Christine McCabe is a licensed professional counsellor. Christine is currently a practitioner of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and in the process of becoming a certified Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist. Christine is excited about the opportunity to offer EMDR therapy to Innercept residents, as clinically appropriate. EMDR is a supportive treatment modality that is particularly helpful for people who are recovering from trauma. Christine’s passion for ongoing education currently finds her studying Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Christine worked within the public-school system at a Comprehensive School and Community Treatment program as a mental health counsellor. She provided low-income, middle school aged children and their families with individual, group and family therapy. In addition, Christine worked for many years in outpatient clinics. Christine specializes in working with adolescents and adults who struggle with trauma, depression, anxiety, self-harm and suicidal ideation. Centered on the CBT model, Christine’s approach is progress-oriented; she strives to build strong relationships with clients and to help them feel comfortable in her care.
Christine appreciates Innercept’s unique approach and ability to provide residents with a continuum of support from the intensive level through outpatient care.
