Josh Martin was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. Growing up in Central Oregon, he enjoyed the multiple outdoor activities the high desert had to offer. Between mountain biking in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter, Josh found a passion for working with children through parks and recreation and after school programs. Throughout high school he engaged in many elementary programs as well as worked closely with youth parks and recreational programs.
His interest in kinesiology and its effects on daily life grew and Josh sought out college opportunities in that field. Josh attended Northwest Nazarene University where he played soccer and took advantage of recreational opportunities around him. During his time in Nampa, Idaho, Josh worked within the local recreation center managing summer camps for elementary children before moving over to the Boys and Girls Club for two years. Josh graduated from NNU with a bachelors degree in Recreational Program Management, Facility Management and a minor in Coaching. During his last year in college, Josh explored biokinetics, psychology, and sociology that introduced a new path to helping those around him.
In recent years, Josh has worked in the school district as a case manager helping students struggling in school find resources for success. He also coached for a local soccer academy and high school varsity programs, as well as managed a soccer training facility. When the opportunity arose to join the team at Innercept and work with youth outside of recreation and club sports, Josh took it. Since joining Innercept in 2015, Josh has worked multiple campuses in different roles, experienced much, and is currently working with the Young Adult campus. Josh continues to pursue learning about the intricate roles staff have with every student’s journey. Through his knowledge, passion, and experience, Josh works to positively affect change within the lives of those around him.
