Sierra is an Idaho native. She spent her adolescence in southeast Idaho and started her professional career in the Boise area after earning her Bachelors degree from the University of Maine. Sierra spent seven years in the public school system as a teacher/librarian at the secondary level and saw the need for greater student supports which motivated her to go back to school and change her vocational trajectory. Sierra graduated from Northwest Nazarene University with her masters in Counseling and emphasis in addiction recovery. She has spent the last two years working with students on the autism spectrum with a complex array of other clinical issues at a therapeutic boarding school.
Sierra has had significant training in group process facilitation, attachment disorders, and substance abuse treatment. Sierra utilizes an eclectic approach in her clinical work and likes to draw from many modalities including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Reality Therapy and Experiential interventions. Sierra has earned a LPC credential with the state of Idaho and is involved in many professional counseling organizations including ACA, ICA, and ISCA.
In her spare time Sierra likes to play in the great outdoors with her husband and 2 year old daughter. Water skiing, snowboarding, and playing beach volleyball are a few favorites. Sierra also has an affinity for the performing arts and finds community events where she can utilize her talents as a singer/musician.
