AfterCare

The Aftercare Program, due to it’s frequency of check-ins and staff support, is compared to other established young adult transition programs.  Our program has some similar features but also some additional very unique advantages.  Students in this program have access to the depth of clinical expertise from staff dedicated to Innercept full-time including physicians, nurses, certified teachers and vocational experts, dietitians, a crisis team in place 24 hours a day that can respond to issues throughout the programs of Innercept, and access to stabilization in the event it is needed.  We have worked for over ten years to foster community relationships with business owners and non-profit organizations who employ people compassionate and motivated to help our population of students.

In the Aftercare Program at Innercept, we offer a supportive independent living model focused on individualized programming for emerging adults ranging in age from eighteen to twenty-four.   Located in the beautiful resort town of Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, we are close to local amenities and a variety of employment, volunteer and educational opportunities.

The therapeutic alliance established earlier in the resident’s progression through the program is an essential component to meeting their individual needs as they move into independent living.  Aftercare combines the therapeutic services that were provided by the team of treatment professionals from earlier parts of the program, while increasing individualized community-based support.  We offer on-going supportive services, targeted mentoring, and task plans to encourage independent living skills, mood management skills, help in achieving a balance with regard to their physical health and diet, help in maintaining an organized environment, establishment of healthy relationship patterns, and the building of self-esteem and values.  We emphasize enrollment in college courses, the maintaining of employment, and/or volunteering as essential to the resident’s success.

Aftercare is a fundamental step in the Innercept continuum as it provides residents with an opportunity to apply the lessons they have learned and reflect on the choices they have made. The program is a supervised path to successful independent living. It is a path that further enhances a resident’s ability to cope with new challenges and gives them added support as they practice life skills, create new connections in the community, and redevelop the self-confidence and trust in themselves that will allow them to be successful in the endeavors they pursue after Innercept.
