Amy received her Bachelor’s of Arts in English through Union University along with her teaching certificate. During her college career she played soccer as well as coached several club soccer teams. Following graduation, she went for a long adventure in Ethiopia, Africa. During this time, Amy taught English as a Second Language at Hope Learning Center in the more rural area of Soddo, Ethiopia.
After moving back to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, her home town, Amy joined the Innercept team. She teaches in both the Adolescent and Young Adult classrooms as well as helping with the facilitation of dual enrollment with the local community college. She also assists those who have graduated high school and are stepping into college. Furthermore, Amy helps with volunteer placement and helps each student create a vocational portfolio.
Amy continues playing soccer, running marathons, participating in triathlons, and savoring the great outdoors of the Northwest and its sports including backpacking, rock-climbing, and snowboarding. She has relished the opportunity of participating with the students in some of these sports and encouraging them as they compete in triathlons, races, and even soccer.
