Ellen Jaeger, Ph.D.

Clinical Director

Dr. Ellen Jaeger is a licensed psychologist specializing in children, adolescents, young adult, and family therapy. She retains hospital privileges at Kootenai Behavioral Health, a division of Kootenai Medical Center.  She has provided psychological and educational evaluations for hospitalized individuals. Dr. Jaeger has extensive experience both in private practice and in public schools. She is a certified school psychologist and certified school counselor, receiving her training at all levels of the educational system. Dr. Jaeger specializes in treatment for Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Trauma, OCD, Eating Disorders and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Additionally, she has worked with children, adolescents, and young adults who have experienced school refusal, conflicts within their environments, sexual abuse, divorce and death.

Dr. Jaeger received her doctorate degree in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Idaho. She conducted research on bullies and victims for her doctoral dissertation and presentation. Additionally, she achieved degrees including a Master’s Specialist degree in School Psychology, Master of Education degree in Counseling and Human Services, and Bachelor of Science degree in Management Technology. Dr. Jaeger has taught classes at the University of Idaho in counseling and education. She received training in the education and development of parenting classes from the Love and Logic institute in Colorado. She has conducted workshops for the Coeur d’Alene School District and taught parenting classes at Kootenai Medical Center in Love and Logic techniques and behavioral management and skills.

Dr. Jaeger currently provides leadership in the areas of clinical personnel and the placement, assignment and scheduling of our therapy team regarding caseloads and team development. This allows for the continued support of our groups, individual sessions, family sessions and maintenance of the therapeutic milieus in Innercept’s Adolescent and Young Adult Programs. Dr. Jaeger also plays a vital role in screening prospective students through the clinical review and admissions process.
