Board Certified Psychiatrist
Originally from Maryland, George Ullrich graduated from West Virginia University Medical School, finished his general psychiatry residency at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and finished with a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center, also in Washington D.C.
He started his career accepting a faculty position at Loma Linda University in California. In addition to teaching at the medical school, he was the Medical Director of inpatient and day treatment programs for Adolescent Services. After moving to Idaho, he accepted a position as Medical Director of Kootenai Behavioral Health Center, Youth Services, for 14 years and consulted to numerous residential programs in the region.
Responsibilities: As a physician owner of Innercept, George Ullrich fulfills many different roles in leadership of residents and staff. His primary role is the application of Integral Medicine principles to the practice of psychiatry as the attending physician for each resident. This often involves the prudent use of medicine, oversight of all treatment plans, facilitating group process focused on health and the impact of beliefs relating to health. He provides coordination of both medical and mental health professionals’ efforts to support residents during their time at Innercept.
